IKEA Fights Cancer
“Many people suffer from Cancer. I got it in 2012. A type of cancer that cannot be cured…yet! For me it is important to do everything I can do to feel as well as possible and to facilitate so that my constantly ongoing treatments can give the best effect. Physical activity helps me a lot to stay healthy. It allows me to take on challenges such as running a half marathon, but also challenges in my everyday life. However, more resources is needed to support research to faster solve the mystery of Cancer.”
Ulf Johansson, Mechanical design engineer IKEA of Sweden
IKEA Fights Cancer was introduced in 2018 and the purpose with this initiative is to put focus on health and wellbeing through regular physical activity as well as raising money for cancer research. Since the start in 2018 almost 400 IKEA-co-workers has been crossing the finish line in Göteborgsvarvet raising more than 150 000 SEK to Cancer research. As the current event has been postponed we decided to go big. A virtual event which will be hosted by all IKEA units in Sweden.
