IKEA fights cancer

“Many people get cancer. I got it in 2012. A type of cancer that can not be cured… yet! For me, it is important to do everything I can to feel as good as possible and to facilitate so that my ongoing treatments can give the best effect. Physical activity helps me a lot to stay healthy. This allows me to take on challenges such as running a half marathon, but also challenges in my everyday life. But more resources are needed to support research to solve the mystery of cancer more quickly. ”

Ulf Johansson, mechanical design engineer IKEA of Sweden

About IKEA Fights Cancer

IKEA Fights Cancer was introduced in 2018 and the purpose is to focus on health and well-being through regular physical activity and to raise money for cancer research. Since the start in 2018, almost 400 IKEA employees have crossed the finishing line in the Gothenburg shipyard and collected more than SEK 150,000 for cancer research. Since the current event has been postponed, we decided to go big. A virtual event that will host all IKEA units in Sweden.

On 9 February, 2022, we had an online start-up meeting about Göteborgsvarvet.
