Along with raising all-important funds for vital cancer research, we also hope that this initiative will empower more people to live a healthy and active lifestyle.

The course and traffic

Medical staff will be available at the event area. First aid kits and defibrillators will be available along the track. Please make sure to read the Terms & Conditions when signing up.

All participation in the race is at your own risk. Make sure you feel well enough to participate and that you have insurance that covers this type of activity.

Support a good cause

The registration fee will be donated to the Mrs. Berta Kamprad Cancer Foundation. Founded in 1986 by IKEA founder Ingvar Kamprad – named after his mother who died of cancer only 53-years-old – the Mrs. Berta Kamprad’s Cancer Foundation supports the research and treatment of cancer, preferably by supporting the cancer research conducted at Skåne University Hospital, Lund.

Following in the footsteps

Älmhult Fights Cancer is inspired by the well-known initiative IKEA Fights Cancer founded in 2018 by Ulf Johansson, Design Engineer at IKEA of Sweden. Following his cancer diagnosis in 2012, Johansson wanted to turn his diagnosis into a positive action, so he challenged himself and his colleagues to take part in the half-marathon in Gothenburg (together, they raised more than SEK 150,000 for cancer research in 2018 and 2019).

While IKEA Fights Cancer was open to IKEA co-workers only, Älmhult Fights Cancer is open to all.

Älmhult Fights Cancer is arranged by IKEA Älmhult AB in collaboration with Elmhults Sport Club and supported by joined forces from the local community of Älmhult.
